Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

This policy explains what information The Carrier Playbook collects, why, and what happens to it. We've written it to describe what this app actually does, not a generic template. If anything is unclear, reach out using the contact info at the bottom.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect:

Questions you ask

When you ask a question, the text of your question is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to determine the right answer. If your question isn't yet covered in our knowledge base, it's logged (along with your email) so we can review it and add an answer later.

Payment information

If you subscribe to a paid plan, your payment is processed entirely by Stripe. We do not collect, see, or store your card number at any point - Stripe handles that directly. We do store your Stripe customer ID, your subscription status, and which plan you're on, so we can manage your access correctly.

Technical and usage information

Voice input

If you use the microphone/voice input feature, your speech is processed by your web browser's built-in speech recognition (not by our servers) to convert it to text before you send it as a question.

2. Who We Share Information With

We share the minimum information necessary with these service providers to actually run the app:

We do not sell your information to anyone, for any reason. We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

3. How We Use Your Information

4. Data Retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, we retain your account data in case you resubscribe, unless you request deletion (see Section 6 below). Logged questions that helped expand our knowledge base may be retained in de-identified form even after an account is deleted.

5. Security

Passwords are stored using one-way encryption (bcrypt), never in plain text. All connections to our app are encrypted (HTTPS). Login sessions use randomly generated tokens rather than storing your password in your browser. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable, standard precautions to protect your information.

6. Your Rights

7. Children's Privacy

This service is intended for business use by adults operating or working with commercial motor carriers. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect information from, anyone under 18.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.

9. Contact Us
