When you create an account, we collect:
When you ask a question, the text of your question is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to determine the right answer. If your question isn't yet covered in our knowledge base, it's logged (along with your email) so we can review it and add an answer later.
If you subscribe to a paid plan, your payment is processed entirely by Stripe. We do not collect, see, or store your card number at any point - Stripe handles that directly. We do store your Stripe customer ID, your subscription status, and which plan you're on, so we can manage your access correctly.
If you use the microphone/voice input feature, your speech is processed by your web browser's built-in speech recognition (not by our servers) to convert it to text before you send it as a question.
We share the minimum information necessary with these service providers to actually run the app:
| Service | What They Receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic (Claude API) | The text of your question | To determine the correct answer |
| HeyGen | Answer text, for questions not yet pre-recorded | To generate the avatar video response |
| Stripe | Email, name, payment details | To process subscription payments |
| Cloudflare (R2 storage) | Video files, downloadable documents | Permanent storage for app content |
| Render | Account database, application hosting | To run the app and store your account data |
We do not sell your information to anyone, for any reason. We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, we retain your account data in case you resubscribe, unless you request deletion (see Section 6 below). Logged questions that helped expand our knowledge base may be retained in de-identified form even after an account is deleted.
Passwords are stored using one-way encryption (bcrypt), never in plain text. All connections to our app are encrypted (HTTPS). Login sessions use randomly generated tokens rather than storing your password in your browser. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable, standard precautions to protect your information.
